Free video contest for a non-profit organization

free video for a non profit contest

As I sat this week in the synagog on Yom Kippur, a Jewish Holiday of self reflection, I thought, what can I do to be a better person. I don’t drink, do drugs, abuse children or animals, steal, vandalize or litter. I even pick up trash when I walk in the woods. I’ve donated clothing and given monetary donations to charities. I am not saying I am a saint, I have had impure thoughts and could have said a mean word or two. But, did I do enough? That is always asked every year in the High Holiday Services.

This year, I decided I would like to do a video for a non-profit organization for free. The problem is how to decide which one. I care deeply about so many issues, some that are close to my heart and personal and others I feel strongly about the cause. Organizations that come to mind are food pantries and soup kitchens, animal shelters, children safety and education, cancer research, clean water, state parks, etc.  I am sure there are so many more that I am not aware of that need a voice too.

This is where I am asking your help. Send me your suggestion for a charitable organization along with a brief explanation of what the charity does and why the charity is important to you.

The contest rules are as follows:

  • The organization must be a willing participant
  • Able to start the project by December
  • Be a Nonprofit¬† 501c
  • Have a website
  • Located in Norfolk, Bristol or Plymouth County
  • Entrees must be received by November 1st, 2012

I will be posting your entries and everyone will get a chance to vote on their favorite. Voting will end on Thursday, November 14th, 2012 and on 16th, 2012, I will make the announcement.

I look forward to learning more about your favorite causes and why they are important to you.
